Job Introduction
The Met Office is delighted to open our advertising for a number of Industrial Placements, which will commence from July 2025 until July 2026.
We’re looking for two Product Management Industrial Placements to our Propositions teams to help us make a difference to our planet.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Met Office on a 12-month Year in Industry placement, developing your skills and knowledge and ensuring you gain the most value possible from your experience with us. You will have the opportunity to network with our cohort of Industrial Placements all over the Met Office and understand what career opportunities we can offer you after you graduate.
As our Product Management Industrial Placement, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.
Our opportunity is full time, 37 hours per week, our people are at the heart of what we do and we'll do our best to agree a working pattern that works for everyone.

Our Industrial Placement scheme offers ambitious and capable undergraduates the opportunity to gain valuable experience working alongside diverse and highly skilled experts in their field. You’ll be working on projects that really matter and will make a difference.
We will help you use and develop a wide range of business and personal skills, ensuring you gain the most value possible from your experience with us. You will build your knowledge within our Propositions team and will help the Met Office to deliver the best portfolio of products possible through supporting work across the Met Office product portfolio. You will be exposed to the wide range of work delivered by the Propositions team. Your work will make a real difference, helping to put our customers and stakeholders first – and helping them make better decisions to stay safe and thrive.
Your key duties:
- Effective teamwork with a team of Product Managers confidently engaging with colleagues across wider Met Office Teams in order to undertake your work.
- Analysis, handling and collation of key data and information, such as financial and performance data. Compiling initial finds and reports to help analyse products.
- Supporting the review and appraisal of Met Office products
- Assisting with the development of product lifecycle plans and product development plans.

Essential criteria
- You’re an expert by nature and can demonstrate an understanding of product management, including knowledge of product lifecycle management and key elements of product development.
- You work better together as a part of team, confidently engaging, sharing ideas and communicating efficiently in order to deliver your work.
- You are able to confidently collate and analyse key data, such as financial and performance data, to help analyse products.
- You live and breathe it taking pride in your work and can demonstrate how you consider the needs of the end user or customer.
- You keep evolving with experience of pro-actively managing multiple projects or tasks and delivering work on time.
- You’re a force for good, with an understanding of how to research and gather user and market insight, and how to pull this through to product lifecycle plans.
